Gay Bar: Good Idea For Straight Guy?

Random but i had a good m8 (straight) tell me that one of the best nights out her ever had was in a gay bar, is that a good idea? not just for pulling women but in general? apparently theyll be able to tell a gay guy from a straight one nywyas so that shouldnt be a problem (you may make a joke/insult for that lol) plus i could always just say "soz m8, im straight" which should solve any problems lol cheers.
