What's a psychological reason why some people love gory anime ?

not entirely sure but here's my theory...Humans have had a long history of savagery - so many wars in all parts of the world for thousands of years it's like we are predesposed to battle. most civilizations have a history of warfare and warriors an addiction to bllodlust. thankfully we have mostly replaced this with sport - look at the brutality of rugby or Nfl men smashing into eahother - maybe humans have an inner need to be violent. we may say that wars are a result of real estae disputes and relision and the like but maybe the medieval knights, the spartans, the samurai etc.. just loved violence.. So watching gory anime is a way of satisfying that inner animalistic violence need .. obviously this needs more investigating -is there a common violence gene perhaps -or a lingering spiritual connection to the Vishnu battle lust
