Question about IM archives/ saving IMs on aim?

Okay, so I chose to save IMs for aim under settings. But when I reread some of the conversations, I realize that I'm sometimes missing one IM that they sent. Like it wouldn't be there. It isn't there, but I clearly remember them saying it. Why does this happen/ how can I fix it?
