The Beach question?

I want to see it, but it's rated R, my dad said I couldn't watch rated R movies, but that could watch The Departed and he let me see Blood Diamond, though he hated it, I LOVED it! He said I could watch The Terminator and Hellraiser, but not Caddy Shack or The Shining and my mom said I could watch This Boy's Life and The Beach. I REALLY want to see it, but my dad is the leader of house hold. Would The Beach fall into the Blood Diamond/Terminator category or the Caddy Shack/The Shining category? Should I only watch the first 10 mins?
