Please Help With Garage Door...?

I have a Genie Intellicode and two weeks ago it was having issues closing/opening and I would hit the remote and it would close/open. Now, it is only moving a couple of inches in either direction. The remotes do no not work at all and I put in new batteries today. I can't see any lights on the sensors and I have no idea what to do next. I would appreciate any suggestions as I am trying to avoid a costly repair call. Thank you very much. Melinda
